School trip - Burwardsley

Year 3 had a fantastic time on their school trip on Friday. The whole class went to the Burwardsley outdoor centre and we learned all about life in the Iron Age.

The children took part in many activities, such as an archaeological dig, making Iron Age pots and making rope bracelets. The children all had a great experience and thanks again to John for being such a super guide!

Here are a few photos from our day.......

Inside an Iron Age house. What do you think the hook is used for?

Some Iron Age drawings. The pictures were made using chalk and charcoal.

The Iron Age house was made using authentic materials that would have been used in the past. They used reeds and poplar trees for the roof and they used mud and horse manure for the walls.......
