The children have recently become more independent, by selecting and looking through their own books. It has been wonderful to observe the children looking through the books, pointing to the different pictures and objects that they can see. Some of the children have been sharing their ideas with the other children, by looking through the books together. Over the last couple of weeks we have been focusing on reading stories, with our key children either in small groups or on a 1:1. This has been great for the children, helping them to build their confidence and to encourage their communication, by focusing on key words through out the story.

Year 3 - School Trip to Chester

Year 3 went on a school trip to Chester yesterday as part of our 'Where I live' topic. The children had a fantastic time and we were even shown around be a real Roman soldier, who was 1952 years old!!

The children learnt all about how Chester has changed over the last 2000 years, and we learnt all about how important the River Dee has been to the city.

Islam workshop

Year 3 took part in an Islam workshop today. They learnt all about the Muslim faith and the five pillars; belief, prayer, charity, fasting and pilgrimage. Some of the children wore the traditional Muslim clothes.

Year 3 assembly

Well done year 3 for a fantastic assembly and to Teagan for winning the courtesy cup. It's been a super half-term and we're all looking forward to coming back and working hard in the run up to Christmas.

Year 3 summer homework

It's been a super first week back after the long summer break and the children have all settled in to life in year 3 really well. Lots of fantastic homework was completed over the summer on our topic 'Where we live'.
